Yeshiva K’tana History Project

January 11, 2007

The Yeshiva K’tana is always looking for fresh, new ways to educate the next generation. This week Waterbury News had the privilege to get in the door on their new project. We got a quick snapshot of Woodrow Wilson and Albert Einstein… or at least it seems so.

(L-R Woodrow Wilson, Albert Einstein)

The costumes look so real that you have to take a double look to tell who is the real Wilson and Einstein. Kol Hakavod to the Yeshiva K’tana’s unparalleled staff.

FYI: Woodrow Wilson was the twenty-eighth President of the United States (1913-1921). Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist widely considered one of the greatest physicists of all time. While best known for the theory of relativity ( E=mc2), he was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics.

The course will be given by American Medical Response (AMR), the City’s emergency medical response. AMR is known to work together with the Jewish Community, and had trained their EMTs and Paramedics with the customs and sensitivities towards the Jewish Community. We contacted Chaim Gewirtzman, a co-founder of CSR, he said “This is a real asset to the City and will offer the students much knowledge. We look foward to continue working with AMR in the future.”

Yeshiva K’tana Suprises Rebbe

January 9, 2007
The 6th grade in Yeshiva K’tana pulled off a nice surprise today. This morning when their Rebbe, Rabbi Baruch Levine, the famous song writer, composer and newly announced singer walked into his class room he was blown away. The boys decorated the class room, and had a birthday cake ready for their Rebbe. Another surprise they pulled off was placing a picture of their Rebbe in a frame amongst the other pictures around the class room. Rabbi Levine places pictures of the present and past Gedolei Yisroel on the wall of the class, and placed between pictures is the boys in the class, letting them remember, they too can be a Gadol B’Yisroel.
